Be a star before someone else does

In my Google Reader, the News and Record had a feature article about Billy Coore, a 19 year-old Greensboro native.
He does research on a fixture of his childhood, Carolina Circle Mall. The mall is long gone but his love for it continues. He has submitted his research in contests and publishes everything on his website, www.homeofcarolinacirclemall.com, as well as his blog, ccmallcity.blogspot.com.
Why I bring him up is he is “blog inspiration.” Why does he do what he does?
He does it because he is good at it. He gains publicity because he is good at it. He is a star at researching the Carolina Circle Mall. He does it because who else will if he doesn’t?
What I like to think I am a star at is High Point University. I know what is going on, I know what happens. If you want to know about HPU then you should talk to me. That’s how I feel. I’m sure Coore feels the same about CCM.
On your blog, be a star at what you do! Look at Gary Vaynerchuk. He readily admits his wine is priced higher than his competition, so why do people buy from him? He is a star at wine where people want to be a part of what he does. That has made him famous.
Whether you have 25 followers on Twitter or 22 page views on your website in a week or just starting your online “identity”. Be a star because if you are not someone else will be. Be a Billy Coore and let’s raise the bar together.
